So You Think You Want to Be a Scientist

My favorite new website, LiveScience, has begun a series on what makes a scientist. If you think you want to be one, this might be a good chance to find out more about what those in the profession think of themselves - you can eavesdrop on their metacognitive experiences. Off the bat, some say one has to be curious and creative. Others say successful scientists are born with special abilities. What do you think?

  1. I believe all thats needed to become a successful scientist is curiosity with an intent and acceptance of large amounts of work. A scientist does have an ability to see different angles and approach problems differently, but i believe this is developed through practice and not inborn.

  2. Professor Hambrick, LiveScience is one of my favorite websites too. They have the coolest articles and topics to read about. I love learning about the human body and they have a lot of good information concerning anatomy and physiology. To become a scientist, I think hardwork and passion are the two required qualities. There are fortunate people who are born with a genius quality, but I don't believe that is required to be a scientist, or any other career. As long as you have the interest and motivation to learn, you can do it.

  3. To be a scientist I think takes a little bit of both. They need to be curious and creative, but at the same time I think it takes someone special to become one. If it didn't take anything special then everyone would be a scientist. Those individuals who choose to be scientists are dedicated hard workers who have a passion for this field.

  4. I believe a scientist is not born while some people are just naturally talented, i think with practice and curiosity of the subject can make you a great scientist, I think anyone can do anything with determination.

  5. Catching your husband red handed cheating online will not be able to find out what their online activity could be crucial.

Its stealth ability makes it useful in a number of third-party service providers
out there that provide online technical support services.

Do you wonder whether your spouse or significant other is doing on a computer.
