NY Times Magazine reports on a study conducted at the National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan tested two groups of mice performing at differing levels of exercise. The findings revealed that exercise enhanced the ability of the creatures to perform an avoidance task, and that those which were forced to exercise more strenuously showed greater skill than the control group.
